Apartman Bedrich Smetana

On June 9, 2024, after a complete reconstruction, the exhibition in the Birthplace of Bedřich Smetana in the Zámecký pivovar was newly opened to the public. The family apartment is located on the ground floor of the former castle brewery, where Bedřich's father, František Smetana, was the brewer from 1823.  

Our company participated in the development and production of period textile wallpapers. You can find them throughout the interior in colors - gold and dark blue. These textile wallpapers are made of viscose silk. An interesting feature is the projection of a white moving line drawing on three walls (the former living room of the Smetana family), which are covered with textile wallpaper in gold color. You can sit here and calmly perceive the author's multimedia work - the image projected on the wall around you and the space filled with quality music.

The author of the renovation of the apartment and the creator of the theme of the new exhibition is Brno architect Petr Všetečka. The Regional Museum in Litomyšl, the National Museum and a number of historians, artists and creatives participated in the creation of the exhibition. We are very honored that microtex was part of the creative team.

The reconstruction, including the new permanent exhibition, was carried out by the city of Litomyšl, which owns the Zámecký pivovar building, with the financial support of the European Union.
